Xiaomi has sold 28.431 million units that generated 23.239 billion yuan from Xiaomi phones in the Q1 of this year. Xiaomi is playing a big game here. Just like every other year, Xiaomi’s budget segment phones are doing great regarding revenues.
As per the data shared by Xiaomi, lower end Xiaomi phones are their main sales target. This accounts for over 110.69 million units that generate over 5.422 billion yuan. This data implies for Xiaomi phones that are sold for 799 yuan.
They sold, only 496,000 such devices in Q1 of 2018 that generated close to 1.315 billion yuan as revenue.
Furthermore, the Xiaomi phones that are priced from 800-1299 yuan, 10.909 million such units were sold- generating approximately 8.861 yuan (second highest) in Q1 of 2018.
As per the data Xiaomi devices that are sold above 3000 yuan or more, these high-end devices are selling less. The sales of such devices aren’t good as compared to the lower end devices.
Xiaomi phones: Overall expenditure analysis
Talking about their overall expenses, Xiaomi’s R&D expenses for the first three months of 2018 was 1.103 billion RMB. That is 3.21% of the total revenue of the company.
If we take a look at the data obtained for previous years- it was 2.75% (3.151 billion RMB) in the year 2017. This was followed by 3.07% (2.104 billion Yuan) and 2.26% (1.512 billion Yuan) of the total revenue.
So this was the expenditure-revenue sheet of Xiaomi phones for the year 2015 through 2018.
