PIPO X11 Review: Improved Hybrid

In a previous review, we were talking about the Chinese company PIPO and one of their devices, the PIPO X10. It was a hybrid between a tablet and a TV Box with some improvements compared to its predecessors. Today, we are going to talk about PIPO X11, an upgraded hybrid that follows the X9 version. The PIPO X11 is featured with Intel Cherry Trail Z8350 Quad Core, built-in 4G RAM + 64G ROM with 8.9 inches 1920*1200 pixels Full HD screen, and based on Windows 10 + Android 5.1 dual OS.

Even though the combination of a smart TV box and a tablet PC is very innovative, the people are divided into two groups. Those who love this type of product because it offers more connectivity options than a regular tablet, and those who prefer either a regular tablet because it is an actual portable device or a PC because you have everything in one place. I recommend you to read the PIPO X10 review and this one so you can decide your team.

A Plus for this device

The PIPO X11 allows you to interact with the screen using your fingers or you can purchase a pen (this one is sold separately) for drawing or writing on the display. Besides, it has palm-rejection technology, so it is perfect for Windows Ink.

So far, the PIPO X11 has the same connectivity options as X10 and equally located. All the ports and buttons located at the back and on the right side of the device.

At the front it is very simple, it only has a touch button with the Windows logo which acts as a start button.

On the right side, we can find the power button, volume button, a LED light that indicates when the device is on, two of the four USB ports (2.0 and 3.0), and an earphone jack.
At the back of the PIPO X10, we can find the WiFi antenna, a reset button, a microSD card slot, two 2.0 USB ports, an HDMI port, an RJ45 LAN port and a 5V/3A DC power port.

Operating System: Windows 10 and Android 5.1

One of the reasons why some people choose a PIPO tablet PC over a regular tablet is the dual operating system. It has pre-installed Windows 10; the advantages of this operating system are:

  • More available applications
  • A familiar environment (since we all know Windows)

And it has Android 5.1, this operating system is designed for touch devices and also offers a lot of applications.

The PIPO X11 carries the Intel Z8350 quad-core processor, it has an average performing CPU with a speed between 1.44GHz 1.92 GHz. This processor provides efficient multi-tasking performance; this means that you can do several activities on it and the performance will be still good. Besides, the X11 has 4 GB RAM and up to 64 GB of internal storage.

Heat dissipation system

If you check the PIPO X10 review, you will see that recent models have incorporated a fan that previous versions didn’t have. The PIPO X11 a fan located at the bottom of the device. It is almost muted compared to the fan inside the X10 version. This feature keeps the temperature at an acceptable level, avoiding overheating, processor slowdown and ensures a long lifespan of the device.

Inside the box

• PIPO X11 Tablet PC
• A Charger (5V/3A)
• A power adapter (the adapter depends on the country of the buyer)

The PIPO X11 tablet PC seems a good option if you are looking for a wide range of connectivity options and a quite portable device. Remember it is not a regular tablet, it is thicker and a little heavier.

This kind of devices could be very useful for teaching or drawing. Thanks to the dual operating system you can take a lot of advantage of the PIPO X11. After reading both review PIPO X10 and this one, you can choose if you prefer regular tablets or you want to give hybrids a try.
